On Wednesday 12th June the Rotary Club of Cannock held its annual golf day at The Chase Golf Club. This even is the clubs biggest single fund raising event and all funds raised on the day go to support Rotary Charities and good causes.
This year the Rotary club had a tremendous support with 20 teams taking part in event from across the region. The Rotary Club also received very generous sponsorship from number local companies which made a significant contribution to ensuring the day was a success.
The day started with a barbecue lunch with local beers in the sunshine on the Golf club terrace. There was a virtual par three competition on the golf simulator, free practice facilities at the driving range before the shotgun start to the team Stableford competition at 1.00pm.
The day concluded with a splendid evening meal and prize presentations and raffle which rose over £1000 for charity. The Rotary President Cliff Shore thanked all involved with the organising the event and assured the guests that ALL money raised would be used to support those in need.
This year’s winning team was Cuttlestones Auctioneers from Penkridge on 102 points and the runner up on the same score but losing on count back was Uniseal Ltd from Burntwood and in third place was Kier Living.
