Service Above Self Award

This year The Rotary Club of Cannock with the support of The Chronicle are looking for an outstanding person who is making or has made a significant contribution to our local community through their time, actions, talents and dedication to others and our community.

The person should be someone who serves as a role model for compassion, and service to make our town a better place. They should have a passion for helping others within the community.

There is no age limit and the award is open to all.


Persons can be nominated for this award by anyone within the community of the District of Cannock Chase. Candidates should have consistently demonstrated qualities of compassion, and service to either one organization or person.

The charitable activities / events or service listed on the application cannot be part of the nominee’s job description or duties and the individual cannot receive any monetary or personal benefits from their involvement.  –

The award recipient must have a broad-based, continuing commitment to communityservice, public service and/or significant charitable or philanthropic contributions of benefit to the community or an individual.

The Award

The winning candidate will be selected by a selection committee made up of our local MP Amanda Milling, The editor of The Chronicle newspaper, and the President of The Rotary Club of Cannock.

The winner will receive an engraved award together with a framed Service above self certificate and The Rotary Club of Cannock will donate the sum of £1000 to the charity of their choice.

Time Schedule

Nominations must be received in writing via application form no later than 28th February 2016

The winner will be announced in April
